Many UK bachelor's degrees are completed in three years and taught master's degrees in one year. Course structures are specialised, so module-level comparison is important.

Work during studyUp to 20 hours a week

Degree-level, full-time students at a compliant higher-education provider can normally work up to 20 hours weekly during term and full-time in vacations. Other study levels can have different or no work rights.

Graduate visa / PSW2 years, then 18 months

Eligible graduates applying by 31 December 2026 can stay for 2 years; applications from 1 January 2027 receive 18 months. PhD and other doctoral graduates receive 3 years.
